Taking Care of Your Boiler

By September 1, 2017 No Comments

Everyone knows how stressful a faulty boiler can be, so we’ve got this guide on making sure yours doesn’t falter at the most inconvenient moment.

If you can’t get Norton Group in for whatever reason, don’t worry, there are still things you can do to keep it in check. Even if you’re not using it, having it run regularly (at least a period daily) will keep it from failing. The second week of October is the busiest time for repair services, due to people leaving the heating off throughout all of summer, and their systems breaking down as a result. Install a carbon monoxide alarm within a metre of the boiler, to watch out for a Gas Leak Smell. In the event of one, call the National Gas Emergency Service at 0800 111 999.

Failing this, do not try and fix the boiler yourself; always call a professional, like us here at Norton Group! Be sure to Central Heating Cover & boiler insurance. A fifth of households suffer heating breakdowns with only 36% paying for cover.

Tenants do not maintain responsibility of Home Boiler Maintenance; in the case of renting a home it is the landlord’s legal duty to keep it working and have it serviced at least once a year.
